Land Rover’s 2014 Range Rover Sport has certainly burst onto the scene in style; setting new records at this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

The new generation Sport managed an average speed of 59.17 mph, on the 12.42-mile-long course - with the vehicle completing the course in just 12 minutes 35.61 seconds.

Equipped with a massive 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine, the 2014 model made light work of the course and left the competition in its wake.

The performance bodes well for Land Rover’s new SUV, which boasts a 510 horsepower engine, custom Meridian audio system, advanced safety facilities, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment interface and the latest generation of Land Rover's Terrain Response 2 traction management system.
